2016/17 Hawkes Bay REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Tukituki RIVER february 2017

RESULTS:

The Hawkes River regional competition is one of the highlights of the season, with some great water and the chance to land some great fish. This year however was an exception. The champs kicked off the weekend of the 4th and 5th of February. The fish numbers were well down on previous years, with one local putting this down to the successive flooding this section of the river has experienced. Congratulations needs to go to Paul Baker for taking out the Championships. Second was Lloyd Strutters followed by Tim Anderson in third. The largest fish caught was a 55cm brown trout, wow! Many thanks to Lloyd and his team for organising this event, its a huge job to the organise the champs, and we are also very thankful to the controllers for their support of SFFNZ and these champs.
