The 2010 Manic National Pairs Competition was held on 6th & 7th Nov on Lake Rotoiria.
Despite some rough weather the 50 anglers managed to catch a bunch of fish. The Pairs is a competition where teams of two anglers compete over 3 three hour sessions to Sport Fly Fishing NZ rules. The added rule is that to contend for prizes the teams need to be made up of at least one angler who has never fished in the national championships before, this rule makes this a great event for anglers new to competition fishing get started to be made up of at least one angler who has never fished in the national championships before, this rule makes this a great event for anglers new to competition fishing get started

The event was won by the new team of Chris young and Tim Rich , with Des Armstrong from Palmerston North taking out the first individual spot in the competition from Dan Comer and Aaron West
