Steve Brown put the effort in to organise the Manawatu regional and was paid back by coming though against a strong field to win!
The river had been high a dirty with quite a bit of rain during the week and although falling on Saturday morning was still a bit coloured. The day wasn't great with wind and a few showers.
The fishing was quite hard for the first session and a lot of one fish bags counted, John Bell came through to win with 4 fish from Craig Farrar with 4 also.
The afternoon session was hard with strong winds and this meant quite a few blanks, Johannes Krill won with 4 fish from Steve and Tony Houpt with 3 each.
Tony and Steve were tied for first after two sessions from Craig.
Sunday morning was very windy and a few showers but the river had dropped and cleared which meant the fishing was quite a bit better, Steve won the session with 10 fish from Tony with 6 and Paul Dewar with 5.
This gave Steve the win for the event from Tony and Craig.
