Peter Scott
Peter Scott took up trout fishing in about 1993 spin fishing in the King country were his father is from, then a year later Roy Price from Hamilton took Peter to the Tauranga Taupo where he caught a 7lb + rainbow and he has been hooked ever since.
Peter is one of New Zealand’s most consistently successful competition fly fishermen and has qualified for ten consecutive National Championships to date; he has also competed in four world champions, two commonwealth championships and several Oceania championships. His achievements include: 1st National Championship 1997, Group winner Oceania Championship 2002 Tasmania Australia , 1st Individual National Pairs Competition 2002, 2nd National Championship 2005, Group winner & 5th Oceania Championship 2005. Gold team and silver individual medals in 2009 Oceania Championships.
Peter is married to Lynley and has two sons Daniel & Ryan. He works in the fly fishing industry as a partner in Rod & Reel, and is an Umpqua qualified fly tying instructor, teaching fly tying, fly casting and fly fishing. He has also fished various locations in the USA, including Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.
Past interests include Rugby league, Rugby union and Running.
Running took over when Peter was in his 20’s competing in road & cross country in many places including Australia, USA, Hawaii and around NZ .
Other interest’s include food & wine.
Slovenia will Peters 5th world championships and he is looking forward to the challenge.
